De Paris is a quaint family-run hotel that served as my base for exploring northern France on my motorbike. Located conveniently near Chimay, the hotel is well-frequented by mature bikers who appreciate secure parking. The welcome gesture of a cold beer upon arrival set a relaxed tone. The hotel does show signs of wear. The rooms are basic and could use some refurbishment, particularly in the bathrooms. While the complimentary toiletries were a nice touch, the flat-screen TV was limited in channel options, lacking English programming. Wi-Fi connectivity was hit-or-miss too. Breakfast, albeit an additional charge, was unremarkable. If you’re seeking a culinary start, I’d recommend venturing nearby for better options at a lower cost. If you prefer authentic charm over chain hotel sterility, De Paris provides an affordable stay with a hands-on approach—just know you're opting for value over luxury.
